Being the bookworm I'm known for, when life has it's twists and turns and down depressing times rule the present, I lost interest and stopped seeing the purpose of books. Literature but overall these type of books. However when the author is someone you look up to and have followed during the past years, the book has a small plus saying "read me, give me a try!". I did, and it was the best choice I could have made. I found myself laughing out loud when I had tears in my eyes five minutes before touching the book! I am not easily impressed or moved, but this book had it all, not only because of the author, but it's content is simply great. A track of anecdotes that deserve to be shared. Easy coloquial language to enjoy the fluency of the stories at a close approach to your own, while the lessons and morals reported are as deep as those from an english literature classic. Also I had my doubts since I am a teen and a female, how much would this book fit my life, but there's absolutely no buts, I got a lot from this book and recommend it 100%. It was the only thing that made me smile, actually laugh, in several days, so you judge it better be damn good.Product details

Alf's way of writing is very approachable and relatable. Whether you're young, looking for guidance or just need some extra encouragement. I highly recommend reading this book, you'll be glad that you did.
Amazingly written not only for men, but for women or the human race as well. Don't let the title sway you! Alf writes from the heart with soul and shares personal stories that inspire and encourage even the weakest of beings to be much better than they were yesterday. Each story of his life's adventures are chock full of morals that every human being should pay close attention to or lessons that awaken the inner person. A must read!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Alf writes in a style that makes you feel you're talking with a friend. He gives you examples of lessons learned from his life and it helps trigger memories of times when you yourself experienced similar lessons. This book could easily be called "forging a better human" as the lessons are truly genderless...but it's always nice to be reminded not to grab electric fences. ;)
Alf has created a very entertaining book of parables based on his true life experiences. The storytelling by Alf has a "down home" way of entertaining and edifying the reader. This book makes a great gift and would sit well on any coffee table. The reader can cover most of a story in minutes without feeling over invested in reading a large chapter in one sitting although you may find yourself reading chapter after chapter just to see what Alf gets himself into next. For that matter, those of you looking for that book to have while you're in the loo, this definitely is a "must have" ;-).

Forging A Man is full of bite sized true stories, that come with the lessons that were learned by experiencing them. Now through the prose Alf has written, we can experience them as well. It becomes obvious Alf has led an interesting life as you read the entertaining stories he's compiled. He now hosts the Being a Better Man Podcast, that focuses on the character of men, and how to be a better man every day. Each of the stories, while entertaining, drive this message home in a way that we all may draw from important lessons learned by Alf throughout his life, and apply them to our own. For most of us life is funny, strange, and poignant, facts that are conveyed expertly in this book. Although Alf's book and podcast are geared towards men, the lessons and ideals of both are applicable to all humans in one way or another.
Life is made of moments and memories. Seldom more true and real then the ones the author has shared in his book Forging A Man. I encourage everyone to read this book and be entertained and challenged by the true adventures Alf has been on thus far in his fascinating life. From the stories that made me laugh so hard that I creid and had to reread to my wife, son and anyone who would listen. To the more somber tales of struggle and perserverance, Alf has hit this book out of the park...way out! Thank you Alf, thank you for sharing such heart felt and personal stories that have impacted not only yourself, but those around you and now beyond. I count it a pleasure to have read your fine book. And look forward to continued listening to your podcast.
PS. I think you've finally found your Super Power! I would suggest "Better Man" as your name. For those of you who don't understand my reference...buy the book, read chapter one, laugh so hard that you may pee and then you'll understand. A book that I will read and reread again and again.
Alf Herigstag is a many facetted person. With his looks and attitude, one would reach the false conclusion of a brute og a man. While reading his book, i caught myself laughing out loud many times. I am a selective reader, and Alf's book held me wanting more. He has a very sharing way of describing his life, it is easy to picture him in every sentence and turn of the stories. He describes a childhood to envy, a family to respect, and a man of honor grew out of it. I enjoyed every twist and turn of the stories, every prank and adventure. In the end, all the good advices at the end of each chapter is something for everyone to consider. A recomended reading.
